  Think of the day as a sequence of moves rather than a guest list. Arrival, when the older guests come from a distant car park to the ceremony. The turn between ceremony and drinks, when everyone shifts at once. The couple's photograph run, which at a large estate can eat forty-five minutes of walking that the schedule cannot spare. And the call to dinner, when a hundred people cross from the lawn to a barn in one wave. Not every wedding needs the buggy at all of these. Most need it badly at one or two. Map your day against these moments and you will see where a vehicle turns a bottleneck into a rolling flow, and where you would be paying for it to sit idle.

  The couple's photographs are the strongest single reason

  If your photographs are anywhere other than the ceremony spot, the buggy usually pays for itself there alone. Estate photography locations are chosen for the view, which means they are a walk from everything, often across grass and often uphill. A 4 seater takes the couple, the photographer and a bag to the location and back in a fraction of the time, and it does it without a bride carrying a train across a wet field.   Every wedding has guests for whom the distance is a genuine barrier: elderly relatives, anyone with a mobility condition, a guest heavily pregnant, someone recovering from surgery. For them the buggy is not a nice touch, it is whether they see the ceremony from the front or from the back having walked in slowly and late. Where a guest uses a wheelchair, the wheelchair-access buggy carries them in their own chair up the ramp rather than asking them to transfer into a seat, which is a materially different day for that person. Decide who drives before the day. Most venues prefer a nominated driver to guests taking the buggy themselves, which is sensible once drinks are flowing.   A buggy appears in more wedding photographs than couples expect, so it is worth a moment's thought on how it looks. Simple flowers, ribbon or a sign work well. Anything that blocks the driver's view, fouls the steering or could work loose while moving is a safety matter rather than a style choice, and we will tell you where the line is before you buy anything. Underneath all of it is the ground. Wet grass is what changes a wedding transport plan in the final week. If your route crosses lawn, tell us at quote stage and again if the forecast turns, because it decides which buggy we send and occasionally what we would advise you to do with the route itself.

Common questions

How many golf buggies do we need for our wedding?

It depends on the distance between your ceremony, photographs and reception, and whether guests move steadily or all at once. Tell us the venue and your rough timeline rather than the guest count and we will work it through. The answer is often fewer than couples expect.

Can the buggy take the couple away for photographs?

That is one of the most common uses, and often the reason a buggy pays for itself. A 4 seater carries the couple, the photographer and a bag to the location and back quickly, which saves daylight and saves a dress being carried across a field.

Can we decorate the buggy to match our day?

Within reason, and we will tell you what is safe. Flowers, ribbon and a sign are fine. Anything obstructing the driver's view or the steering, or that could come loose in motion, is a genuine safety issue rather than a preference, so talk to us before buying.

Do we hire it for the whole day or just part of it?

Most weddings hire for the day, with delivery and collection either side. Because travel is charged once, a weekend hire is sometimes little more than a single day. We will quote both where the difference is small so you can decide.
