Insurance and safety

How cover, safety and responsibility work in a hire, set out plainly so there are no surprises.

Hiring a vehicle for an event raises fair questions about insurance, safety and who carries the risk. Here is how it works, and what we provide.

  • Documents on request

Insurance certificates, risk assessments and method statements are available on request, and we would rather provide them at quote stage than after you have committed. Venues and event organisers need them for their own files, and a delivery is smoother when the paperwork is already agreed.

  • Briefed at handover

We show your team how the buggy works when we deliver it: how to drive it, how to charge it, and the sensible limits. A buggy is simple to operate, but a two minute briefing at the start prevents the small mishaps that come from assuming.

  • Breakdown cover included

A fault during your hire is ours to fix, not yours to work around. Report a problem and we respond, and we will be straight with you about the timescale based on where you are rather than promising a number we cannot honour.

  • Clear responsibilities

The terms of hire set out plainly who is responsible for what, and you see them before you book. There is nothing hidden: while the buggy is with you, you use it as shown and keep it secure, and the rest is ours.

Common questions

Are the buggies insured
We carry the insurance appropriate to operating a hire fleet, and we can provide our insurance details and certificates on request, which venues and event organisers frequently need for their own files. Ask at quote stage and they come with the quote.
Do you provide risk assessments and method statements
Yes, on request. Public sector buyers, larger venues and event organisers usually need a risk assessment and sometimes a method statement before anything arrives on site. We would rather supply them up front than hold up your delivery.
Who is responsible for the buggy during the hire
Responsibility during the hire is set out plainly in the terms of hire, which you see before you commit. In short, while the buggy is with you, you are responsible for using it as shown and keeping it secure, and we cover servicing, breakdown and the things that are ours to cover.
What happens if a buggy breaks down during our event
Report it and we respond. Our breakdown cover means a fault during your hire is our problem to sort, not yours, and we will get you moving again as quickly as we can. The exact response depends on where you are and what has failed, and we will be honest about the timescale rather than promising something we cannot reach.
