Who we are

Green Buggy Hire is a trading name of The Hawke Group Ltd, company number 16624766, registered in England and Wales at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect

We collect the information you give us when you request a quote, make a booking or contact us, and some information automatically when you use the site.

• Details you provide: your name, email, phone, business name where relevant, event and venue details, and delivery information.
• Payment information: handled by our payment provider. We do not store full card details.
• Usage information: pages visited, how you arrived, approximate location from your connection, and device type, used to understand and improve the service.
• Quote activity: whether our emails about your quote were delivered and opened, whether you followed a link from one, and when you viewed your quote and for how long.

Email and quote tracking

When we email you about a quote, we record whether it was delivered, whether it was opened, and whether you followed a link from it. When you open your quote on this site we record when, how long the page was open, and whether you downloaded the quote or accepted it.

We do this so we know whether a quote reached you and whether it needs following up, and so we stop chasing you once you have seen it. It is limited to your own quote. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not record your mouse movements, your typing or your screen.

Open tracking is not reliable. Some email apps load images automatically, which registers as an open whether or not anyone has read the message, so we treat it as a weak signal and do not act on it alone.

The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to your enquiry and not letting a quote go unanswered. You can object at any time using the link in any follow-up email, or by contacting us, and we will stop.

How we use it

We use your information to prepare quotes, arrange and fulfil hires, take payment, communicate with you about your booking, and improve the service.

• To provide quotes and fulfil bookings, on the basis of taking steps to enter into and perform our contract with you.
• To send service messages about your quote, booking and delivery, on the same basis.
• To improve the site and understand demand, on the basis of our legitimate interests.
• To send marketing only where you have agreed, and you can withdraw that at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only as needed to run the service: our payment provider to take payment, our delivery and communications providers to reach you, and partner depots where a buggy for your hire comes from one. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as we are required to for legal and accounting reasons, and enquiry data for no longer than we need it. The definitive retention periods are being finalised.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
