Our fleet
Sustainability and our electric fleet
Every buggy we hire is electric. Here is what that genuinely means, and what it does not.
The environmental case for electric hire is real, and it is also modest and specific. We would rather set out exactly what is true than reach for the language of a green campaign.
Electric, not petrol
Every buggy we hire is electric. In use it produces no exhaust emissions at the point of use, which is what makes it usable indoors, near a ceremony, or among wildlife where a petrol engine would not be welcome. It is also quiet, which matters more often than people expect.
Shared rather than owned
Hiring is a shared-use model. One buggy serves many events across a year, rather than every venue and every couple buying a vehicle that sits idle most of the time. Fewer vehicles made and maintained to do the same work is a genuine efficiency, and it is the quiet environmental case for hire over ownership.
Maintained to last
A well-maintained buggy has a long working life. We service the fleet properly and repair rather than replace where it is sensible, because a vehicle kept running for years is better for us commercially and better environmentally than one replaced early.
Honest about the limits
We will not overstate this. An electric buggy still has to be manufactured, its batteries still have an environmental cost, and it is delivered by a diesel or petrol vehicle towing a trailer. We do not claim to be carbon neutral, because we have not measured and offset our footprint, and we would rather say that plainly than imply a certification we do not hold.
