8 seater golf buggy hire
An 8 seater golf buggy, sometimes called a people mover, carries a driver and seven passengers. It is the largest option we hire and is built for moving guests in numbers on a set route, rather than for general runabout use.

The 8 seater is a shuttle vehicle. Seven passengers a trip means a car park can be cleared in a handful of runs rather than a dozen, which is the difference between guests arriving relaxed and guests arriving late.
It asks more of your site than the smaller buggies. It is the longest option, it needs somewhere sensible to turn, and it works best on a defined route with a driver who knows it. Used that way it moves more people per hour than anything else we hire.
Where an 8 seater works well
- Clearing a car park at the start and end of an event
- A scheduled shuttle on a fixed route across a large venue
- Festivals and shows moving crew, artists or officials in groups
- Large weddings where guests arrive in concentrated waves
- Any site where the walk is long enough that guests would otherwise need cars
Worth knowing before you book
The things below are the ones that most often catch people out. We would rather raise them now than on delivery day.
- This is the longest vehicle we hire. Turning circles, gateways and path widths all need checking beforehand.
- It is at its best with a nominated or trained driver on a known route. It is not an ideal buggy for guests to take themselves.
- For short hops and small groups it is more vehicle than the job needs, and a 4 or 6 seater will be cheaper and easier.
Common questions
- How many guests can an 8 seater move in an hour
- That is set by your route rather than the buggy, so a headline figure would be misleading. Give us the distance between the pick-up and drop-off points and how long you have, and we will work through the arithmetic with you and tell you whether one buggy is enough.
- Do I need a trained driver for an 8 seater
- It is not a legal requirement on private land, but we recommend it. A full people mover on a repeating route benefits from someone who knows the route, keeps to a rhythm and manages loading. We can supply trained drivers as part of the hire.
- Can an 8 seater cope with a sloped site
- Slopes with a full load are exactly the situation to tell us about in advance. Send us the details of the gradient and the surface and we will confirm what is sensible rather than let you find out on the day.
