Wheelchair accessible buggy hire

Wheelchair-accessible buggy hire and event support vehicles for mobility assistance, marshalling, security patrol and first aid. Delivered nationwide.

Accessible and support hire covers wheelchair-access buggies for mobility assistance, and buggies used by marshals, security and medical teams who need to reach any point of a site quickly.

If your event or site has a duty to be reachable by everyone attending, a buggy is often the practical answer to a distance that no amount of signage fixes. The vehicle has to be built for it though, with a ramp and a secured wheelchair position rather than a step and goodwill.

The support side is different work: marshals, security and medical teams who need to cross a site fast and predictably. For a medical team the buggy is response time, and response time is what the licensing conversation turns on.

Accessibility and support planning

  • Ramp access is a specification, not an upgrade

A wheelchair user needs a rear ramp, a flat secured position and restraints. A passenger buggy with a low step does not do this job, and offering it as though it does helps nobody.

  • Who is being moved, and from where

Map the actual journey: accessible parking to entrance, entrance to the far end, and the return once the event closes and everyone leaves at once. That last leg is the one that gets underestimated.

  • Medical response

If a buggy is part of your medical plan, it needs to be dedicated to that, not shared with general transport. Your event medical provider will have a view and it is worth asking them first.

  • Marshalling and patrol

Security and marshal use is continuous rather than peaked, which usually means charging in rotation or an extra vehicle rather than a single buggy running flat.

  • Publish it

If accessible transport is available, say so in your event information in advance. People decide whether they can attend at all based on what they can find out beforehand.

Which buggy suits this

The ramp-access vehicle is the point of this hire. Passenger and utility buggies alongside it cover marshalling, patrol and medical support.

Common questions

What makes the accessible buggy different
A rear ramp, a flat wheelchair position and restraints to secure the chair, rather than a seat you step up into. It is designed so a wheelchair user is carried in their own chair safely, which a standard buggy cannot do.
Can we use a buggy as part of our event medical plan
Yes, and it should be dedicated to that rather than shared. Speak to your event medical provider about what they need it to carry and we will match the vehicle to it.
How many accessible buggies do we need
It depends on your expected numbers and the distances involved, and we would rather work it out with you than guess. Tell us the site and the anticipated demand and we will make a recommendation you can challenge.
