Industrial and logistics sites hire buggies to move staff, contractors and tools across distances that are wasting working hours on foot, on sites where a van is too big and walking is too slow.

This is the least glamorous hire we do and often the easiest to justify. A distribution centre where supervisors walk fifteen minutes between ends is losing hours a week per person, and the arithmetic on that is not subtle.

The other driver is contractor and shutdown work. A planned maintenance period brings a lot of people onto a big site at once, all needing to get to the far corner with equipment, for a defined number of weeks.

Industrial site considerations

  • Indoor, outdoor or both

    Electric matters more here than anywhere. A buggy working inside a warehouse has to be electric, because the fume and noise case against combustion indoors is not arguable.

  • Traffic management

    Your site will have a traffic management plan covering forklifts, HGVs and pedestrians. The buggy needs to fit into it, including routes, speed and right of way. Bring us into that conversation early.

  • Shift patterns and charging

    A site running two or three shifts does not have a natural overnight charging window. Either plan a mid-shift charge or hire an extra vehicle to rotate.

  • Loads

    If it is carrying tools, parts or test equipment, a utility bed is the right answer. Passengers holding equipment on their laps is how things get dropped and people get hurt.

  • Induction and permits

    Most industrial sites require our delivery driver to be inducted or escorted. Tell us at booking so the delivery is scheduled with that built in.

Can the buggies be used indoors
Yes. Every buggy we hire is electric, which is what makes indoor use viable at all. There are no exhaust emissions at the point of use and the noise is low enough to work alongside people.
Can you hire for a shutdown or maintenance period
Yes, and short defined periods like this are common. Give us the start and end dates and the number of people needing to move and we will quote the period rather than an open-ended hire.
Do you need site induction for delivery
If your site requires it, tell us when you book and we will build it into the delivery slot. It is a routine requirement and it only causes problems when it is a surprise on the day.
