If you are not sure what you need, the 4 seater is usually the right starting point. It carries a driver and three passengers, fits down most established paths, and is small enough that a first-time driver is comfortable with it within a minute or two.
It is the size we are asked for most often, and for good reason: it moves a useful number of people without becoming a vehicle that needs planning around. A wedding party, a group of guests, a site manager plus a visiting team.
Where a 4 seater works well
- Weddings, both for the couple and for moving guests in small groups
- Hotels and venues moving arrivals between car park, reception and rooms
- Estates giving tours to visitors, buyers or contractors
- Corporate days where a handful of people need to move between locations
- Any event where you want one buggy that covers most situations
Worth knowing before you book
The things below are the ones that most often catch people out. We would rather raise them now than on delivery day.
- Four seats means three passengers plus a driver. For a continuous guest shuttle across a large site, a 6 or 8 seater moves the same number of people in fewer runs.
- Rear-facing seats are common on this size. Some older guests find them harder to get in and out of, which is worth thinking about.
- It has no meaningful load space. Guests and light bags only.
Common questions
- How many 4 seater buggies do I need for a wedding
- It depends far more on the distance and the timeline than on the guest count. A single buggy covering a short route can move a lot of people across an afternoon. The same buggy on a long route, with everyone needing to arrive at once, will not. Tell us the venue and your timings and we will work it out with you rather than guess.
- Can guests drive the buggy themselves
- That is your decision as the hirer, and it depends on the venue and your insurance. Many venues prefer a nominated driver. We can also supply trained drivers, which removes the question entirely and tends to keep the day running to time.
- Is a 4 seater suitable for grass and uneven ground
- For maintained grass and firm paths, yes. For heavy mud, steep banks or rutted ground, tell us before you book. Ground conditions are the single most common reason a hire does not go to plan, and it is much easier to solve beforehand.
