A four wheel mobility scooter is built for stability and distance rather than the tight kerb work of a small boot scooter. Four wheels and a wide track hold a line on cambers and slopes, front and rear suspension take the edge off rough ground, and a supportive captain seat with armrests suits longer trips than a lightweight scooter is made for.
Speed and where a scooter may be used are set by class in the UK, not by type approval: a class 2 scooter is a pavement vehicle limited to 4 mph, and a class 3 is a road vehicle limited to 8 mph with lights and indicators. Manufacturer speed figures can be higher than either, so we confirm the right class and speed limit for how and where the scooter will be used before you order.
