Before the display, the crew work in and around the firing area to set up, and the buggy supports that on the crew side, carrying equipment and people to the compound, but it stops at the boundary the operator sets. During the display, no vehicle and no unauthorised person is anywhere near the firing zone, and the buggy works entirely on the public side, moving officials, stewards and visitors well back from the fallout area. We plan the buggy operation with the display operator and the event safety officer, not around them. Tell us who is running the pyrotechnics and we will make sure the vehicle routes, the pick-up points and the timings respect their exclusion zones absolutely. This is not an event where a buggy improvises a route.
