Golf buggy hire prices explained
By James Brown · Updated 21 July 2026 · 6 minute read

A golf buggy hire price is made of four parts: the hire of the vehicles, delivery and collection, any extras, and VAT on top. The hire depends on how many buggies and for how long; delivery depends on distance. A single advertised figure leaves out the one part that varies most, which is why we quote rather than list.
Key takeaways
- The four parts are hire, delivery, extras and VAT, and they are shown separately.
- Delivery is the part that varies most, because it depends on distance to your venue.
- A longer hire costs less per day, because delivery is paid once whatever the length.
- The size and number of buggies moves the hire figure more than anything else.
- We quote rather than advertise a headline price, because a headline cannot include your delivery.
Why there is no single price to quote you
It is a fair thing to want: a number, on a page, so you know roughly what you are dealing with. The reason it is not there is not evasiveness, it is that the largest variable in the whole calculation is where you are, and a page does not know that.
Two weddings hiring the identical buggies for the identical weekend can have very different delivery costs, purely on distance. Publishing one figure would be accurate for one of them and misleading for the other, and we would rather give you a real number for your event than a headline that turns out not to apply.
Part one: the hire
This is the cost of the vehicles themselves for the period you need them. It moves on two things: how many buggies, and for how long.
Size matters less to the hire figure than people expect and number matters more. Two 4 seaters cost more to hire than one 6 seater even though they carry fewer people in total, because you have two vehicles rather than one. That is worth knowing when you are deciding between them, because the two smaller vehicles usually give better service, so the extra is often worth paying.
Duration works in your favour the longer it runs. The daily rate reduces as the hire lengthens, because the fixed costs around a hire are spread across more days.
Part two: delivery and collection
We bring the buggies to you on a trailer, set them up, and collect them afterwards. That is a real journey with a real cost, and it is priced on the road distance between our depot and your venue.
It is charged as its own line rather than folded into the hire, for a reason: it means you can see it, and it means the hire figure is comparable between one enquiry and another regardless of where each one is. A quote that buries delivery inside a single total is hiding the number that varies most.
Because delivery is paid once each way whatever the length of the hire, it is the mathematical reason a longer hire is better value per day. The journey costs the same whether the buggies stay for a day or a week.
Part three: extras
Extras are the things that are genuinely optional: a driver from us rather than using your own staff, branding applied to the vehicles, a canopy, or out-of-hours delivery outside the standard window.
Every extra is a line you can see and decline. None is bundled in by default, and none appears on your quote unless you asked about it or we flagged it as relevant to what you described.
- A driver from us, quoted separately so you can weigh it against using your own team.
- Branding on the vehicles, which needs artwork and lead time.
- Out-of-hours delivery, priced as an option rather than assumed.
- Additional accessories where they suit the job.

Part four: VAT
VAT applies and is shown as its own line at the standard rate. If you are a VAT-registered business you will reclaim it in the usual way; if you are a private customer it is part of what you pay.
We show it separately rather than as a single inclusive figure so the numbers are transparent, and so a business customer can see the net figure they will actually carry.
What a quote looks like
When you ask, you get an itemised written quote within one working hour: the hire as a line, delivery and collection as a line, any extras as their own lines, and VAT as a line, adding to a total. Nothing hidden, nothing rolled together.
That format is deliberate. It lets you see exactly what each part costs, compare it fairly against anyone else, and change your mind about an extra without having to unpick a single number. It costs nothing to get one, and there is no obligation attached.
Common questions
- Why won't you just tell me a price
- Because the largest part of the variation is delivery distance, and a page cannot know where your venue is. We would rather give you a real, itemised figure within one working hour than a headline number that is accurate for somebody else's event and wrong for yours.
- Is delivery really a separate charge
- Yes, and it is shown as its own line. It is a genuine journey with a genuine cost, priced on road distance. Showing it separately keeps the hire figure comparable between enquiries and means nothing is hidden inside a single total.
- Does a longer hire cost proportionally more
- No, it costs less per day. Delivery is paid once each way whatever the length, so spreading it across more days lowers the daily rate. A week is better value per day than a single day.
- Are there charges that appear later
- No. The quote is the price. Everything is itemised up front, including VAT, and nothing is added afterwards unless you change the booking. If a booking changes, you get a revised quote showing the difference before anything is agreed.
