Golf buggy hire around Glastonbury

Glastonbury rises from the flat Somerset Levels, its conical Tor visible for miles across the moor and the ruined abbey at the heart of the town. The Levels are the setting to plan around: reclaimed wetland crossed by drainage rhynes, low and level ground that lies wet through the winter and softens after rain, so any event out on the moor needs its access and parking chosen with the ground in mind.

Glastonbury Abbey and its parkland host weddings and events in the centre of the town, and the Tor and Chalice Well add open-air and gathering occasions on the higher, steeper ground. A few miles east at Pilton, Worthy Farm is the site of the festival that carries the town's name, spread across vast fields where distances between stages, gates and camping run long. The moor is level but soft, and the Tor is a steep climb, so a buggy keeps stewards, guests and older visitors moving across the flat sites and the abbey grounds.

The A39 runs through towards Wells and Street and the A361 heads east to Shepton and Pilton, and the settings sit out on the Levels and up the low hills: Baltonsborough and Butleigh south under the Tor, Meare and Godney out on the moor, West Pennard and Pilton east towards the festival fields.

Everything is included: charged buggies, a controls briefing on the day and collection when you have finished.

Delivery to Glastonbury

We deliver to Glastonbury from our Bracknell depot, about 115 miles by road. Delivery is priced on that distance and shown as its own line on your quote, separate from the hire, so you can see exactly what each part costs.

We bring the buggies on a trailer, set them up at the venue, show your team how they work, and collect them at the end of the hire. Nobody needs to tow anything or collect anything themselves.

Which buggies suit Glastonbury venues

  • 4 seater

A 4 seater golf buggy carries a driver and three passengers, usually in two rows. It is a popular choice for weddings, small group transport and general venue use.

  • 6 seater

A 6 seater golf buggy carries a driver and five passengers. It is the usual choice once you are moving groups rather than individuals, and it is the smallest size that works properly as a shuttle.

  • 8 seater golf buggy

An 8 seater golf buggy, sometimes called a people mover, carries a driver and seven passengers. It is the largest option we hire and is built for moving guests in numbers on a set route, rather than for general runabout use.

What buggies get used for around Glastonbury

  • Moving stewards and crew across the festival fields at Worthy Farm.
  • Carrying wedding guests across the abbey grounds in the town centre.
  • Running less mobile visitors up towards the Tor on the higher ground.
  • Keeping guests off soft Levels ground after wet weather.

Questions about hire in Glastonbury

Do you deliver golf buggies to Glastonbury?
Yes. We cover Glastonbury, Street, Pilton, Baltonsborough, Butleigh, Meare, West Pennard, Ashcott and the Levels villages, delivering to the venue and collecting afterwards.
How far is Glastonbury from your depot?
Glastonbury is about 115 miles from our Bracknell depot by road. The exact routed distance and your delivery window come with the quote.
Can you supply buggies for a large festival on the Levels?
Yes. For big events we provide several buggies and trained drivers to move people and kit across the site. Tell us the format and numbers and we will plan the fleet.
Will a buggy cope with the moor ground after rain?
The Levels lie wet and soften in winter, so we agree firm access and routes with you and flag any ground to avoid on the day.
Do you cover weddings at the abbey?
We do. Give us the venue and guest count and we will suggest a sensible number of buggies for the grounds.
